Canadian Government provides support to Nepal's development through agencies such as the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the World Bank (WB), and various United Nations (UN) Agencies.

In addition to Bilateral funding, CIDA provides support through Multilateral branch for various activities such as PAMDI. CIDA's Program Against Hunger, Malnutrition and Diseases aims to contribute to the sustainable reduction of hunger, malnutrition and disease in developing countries.

The funding provided is to support to country led programs that address avoidable causes of death and disability such as inadequate food intake, micronutrient deficiencies and communicable diseases. PAMDI provides funding for emergency food and health interventions during critical situations of food shortages and diseases outbreak such as those caused by natural disaster and civil unrest.

The annual contributions made by CIDA to the multilateral programs totals approximately C$6 million.
